Raising Socially Conscious Kids will feature World's Children's Prize-winner and Nobel Peace Prize-nominee Marc Kielburger. Kielburger is the Chief Executive Director of Free the Children, the world's largest network of children helping children. Under his direction, Free the Children has formed successful partnerships with the UN and Oprah's Angel Network. A world renown social entrepreneur, leadership specialist, visionary and best-selling New York Times author, Marc is also the founder of Me to We, a social enterprise for people who want to help change the world through their daily choices.

"We're delighted to have Marc Kielburger launch our Sustainable Kids Series," said Karen Cahn-Adleson, Moonbeams' owner. "Marc reminds us all of the strength inherent in one person's passionate determination. He'll provide practical tips on how parents can enthuse our children to become remarkable humanitarians, aware of social issues and how to help others. It will also be the first day to purchase an original Steve Nash designed baby and children's t-shirt, with all proceeds supporting the Foundation's work in Arizona. And Oregano's Pizza Bistro has gotten involved and will be here serving snacks."

Future sessions are planned on topics ranging from encouraging creative play in the home and classroom to healthy home cleaning.

Moonbeams recently chose the Foundation as its charity of choice; the relationship will support efforts in early childhood education in Arizona. The Steve Nash Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to assisting underserved children in their health, personal development, education and enjoyment of life. Visit stevenash.org for more information.

Moonbeams is located at 10636 North 71st Way, two blocks north of Shea and a block west of Scottsdale Road and will remain open during Kielburger's presentation. Children are welcome. Seating is limited so RSVP at Moonbeams, [email protected] or 480.998.7878.
