SAN ANTONIO, Texas, Oct. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Landing a career can be tough enough today. But a high percentage
It's not just an American worry. Across the pond a new survey conducted for the British Dental Association showed that 77 percent of respondents felt that decayed teeth or bad breath would seriously impact a job seeker's chances of securing employment in any sort of public or client-facing roles2. 62 percent felt that job applicants with visibly decayed or missing teeth would be disadvantaged at securing any role at all. 6 in 10 believe such issues would endanger the prospects of promotion.
Such anxiety is not unfounded, according to leading cosmetic dentist Dr. John Moore. "Many careers being sought after by young people today are highly dependent on a brilliant, winning grin," Dr. Moore said. "These include careers in public speaking, leadership, management and highly motivated sales roles as well as entertainment, modeling and media. For such careers, a smile is central to that all-important first impression."
Dr. Moore knows of what he speaks. Due to the artistry with which he has imbued his practice, many patients seeking these kinds of careers have sought him out and utilized his services. "It's about the realistic look vs. the big white falsies you get from just any old advertiser of cosmetic dentistry," said Moore.
The ADA study also revealed other serious dental issues with young adults. Over 30 percent of them have untreated tooth decay. 35 percent have trouble chewing or biting. 38 percent find life in general "less satisfying" owing to teeth and mouth issues. One in five have cut back on socializing due to dental problems.

?About John Moore, Jr., DDS
?Dr. Moore decided to dedicate his life to dentistry after an orthodontist literally saved his smile from buck-toothed ruin at a young age. In addition to the run-of-the-mill training in traditional math and sciences that most dentists do, Dr. Moore took the highly unusual step of engaging in formal art education, as well. This combination has enabled a career of creating beautiful smiles that sparkle: life-like, diamond-cut teeth that have empowered his patients to command the careers and live the lives they've always wanted.
