CHICAGO, Aug. 17 "The American MedicalAssociation Alliance commends Congress for passing legislation to ensure thefuture health of our children. The Children's Health and Medicare ProtectionAct of 2007 and the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of2007, once reconciled by conference committee, will enable children andseniors currently relying on SCHIP for their basic health needs to continuereceiving essential medical services.

Congress hasmade a courageous and far-sighted choice to safeguard the health of our futuregenerations.
