HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 12 The Pennsylvania Department of Health has reviewed and approved the plan of closure for Brownsville Tri-County Hospital in Brownsville, Fayette County, which ceased operations today.

All 15 patients who were in the hospital have been relocated to other facilities. All hospital staff, even those who were not scheduled to work, assisted with the patient transfer.

Local ambulances and emergency management systems have been notified the facility will not accept any ambulance patients.

PennDOT will remove the blue "H" signs that direct motorists to the Brownsville Tri-County Hospital. Until the blue signs are removed, the hospital will accept walk-in emergency patients.
