"The degree of challenge and change today's health care leaders are facingis almost indescribable, and as we all wrestle with what a turbulent economyand a new administration means for the industry, it's helpful to comparenotes," said Dan McLaughlin, director of the Center for Health and MedicalAffairs in the Opus College of Business. "Health care-connected organizationsare very accustomed to trying new things to reduce costs, improve quality andincrease efficiency, but they'll need to be even more strategic andcollaborative to thrive in this new climate."

Held at the University's downtown Minneapolis Schulze Hall building, theconference will provide a macro view of the industry's changing landscape,specifically addressing two of its most pressing issues: financing anddelivery systems. Through networking, dialogue and a series of breakoutstrategy sessions, the event will empower attendees to play more active rolesshaping the direction of health care in their respective organizations.
Kicking off the conference as introductory speaker will be DavidDurenberger, a 17-year U.S. Senator for Minnesota who chaired its healthsubcommittee before taking on leadership roles with the St. Thomas' NationalInstitute for Health Policy. Star-studded panels of C-level leaders spanninggovernment programs, major providers and private health plans will also sharetheir vision for health care, offering specific, expert recommendations on newpathways towards long-term growth and sustainability.
