The president of the college, Dr. Pinto and the the secretary, Dr. Gune Singhe said that their country is going to save millions of foreign currency spent on purchasing the mesh and treating its complication because Mesh is not required in this new method and it gives complete cure from the hernia.
Dr. Desarda said that no foreign body is used in his new operation technique; therefore there are no complications that are associated with a foreign body like mesh. Chances of recurrence are also almost zero because this operation is based on the physiological principle and the new theories that prevent hernia formation. The patient is admitted in the morning and operated immediately under local or spinal anaesthesia. General anaesthesia is not required. Patient goes to bathroom as soon as anaesthesia effect is gone. There are no restrictions on movements. Patient is discharged within 24 hours. He can carry luggage and travel, bend, squat or climb up the staircase. Normally patient can drive car and go to office within 3-4 days without much difficulty.
This operation is being followed in many countries all over the world now.
