Instruction will highlight the principles of protecting personnel, patients and the environment from exposure. (View Course web page)

The USP 800 course includes hands-on simulation focusing on the critical aspects in HD safety and preparation. The two-day class provides 1.07 CEU's for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Joint accreditation is through the Rutgers University Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and Spectrum Pharmacy Institute.

Craig A. Recatto, Ph.D., President of Spectrum Pharmacy Products, said, "The USP 800 implementation date is officially July 1, 2018, although California adopted the chapter earlier this year. The compounding standards are extensive and may require far-reaching updates for pharmacies. The time to start planning and preparing is now."

Randy Burg, CEO of parent company Spectrum Chemical Mfg. Corp., said, "Spectrum has been taking care of the needs of compounders for four decades. With the new class at Chapman University School of Pharmacy in Irvine, California, Spectrum is able to offer the same accredited USP 800 training to West Coast professionals that we offer at the Spectrum Pharmacy Institute state-of-the-art training center in New Brunswick, New Jersey."
