The CEO of Hugh Chatham, David Loving, remarked, "We are extremely proud to be a part of this stroke network.  With Forsyth Medical Center's Stoke and Neurosciences Center and Specialists On Call we have enhanced our emergency neurology capabilities and can now simply do more for our stroke patients or patients with any other neurologic emergency."

Specialists On Call already provides teleneurology services to hospitals in eight other states and has conducted more than 12,000 consultations via telemedicine since the company's inception.  Their reliability and performance has earned them both a leadership position within the telemedicine industry as well as the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval.

Dr. Chere Chase, Medical Director of Stroke and Neurocritical Care at Forsyth Medical Center, added, "This program combines the vast resources of FMC's nationally certified, award-winning stroke center with some of the country's leading private practice and academic neuroscience physicians.  It allows Hugh Chatham and other community hospitals in the Carolinas and Virginia to have access to an expert level of comprehensive stroke and neurological care not available at any single medical center in the country."

Dr. Joe Peterson, CEO, commented, "We're thrilled to be working with Hugh Chatham and Forsyth Medical Center.  Together we'll strengthen emergency care for acute neurology patients and make a real difference throughout the state.  With this stroke network supporting local ED and inpatient physicians, North Carolina's rural and suburban hospitals are able to treat neurologic emergencies and stroke patients with greater efficiency and effectiveness.  The clinical and financial benefits of our teleneurology service are clear – patients get immediate help from the specialty physicians they need and hospitals get to treat more patients."

Specialists On Call is a private, physician led telemedicine company that provides access to neurologists through a consolidated infrastructure of people and technology.  With offices in Los Angeles and Washington, DC, SOC is committed to extending access to professional on-call specialty physician support to patients in all settings and geographies.  For more information please contact Clark Wells at [email protected], or 866-483-9690.
