Dr. Schafer is an internationally recognized expert in ultrasonictechnology, with over 25 years of design and development experience. He iscurrently Vice President of the Ultrasonic Industry Association (UIA),Chairman of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA)Ultrasound Technical Committee, and serves on the Board of Governors of theAmerican Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM). Dr. Schafer holds aPh.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, an M.S. in Acousticsfrom Pennsylvania State University and an S.B. in Electrical Engineering fromthe Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has been published over 40times and has been issued 13 patents.
