SANTA ROSA, Calif., Dec. 15 In August 2009 one group of girlfriends got the news we all hope to never hear, their friend Lisa was diagnosed with stage 3 brain cancer, Anaplastic Astrocytoma. They were devastated and thought to themselves "What can I do?" Each started to realize that they had to do something to help their friend and other families like theirs, and what came next was the beginning of 'Friends Raising Funds.'

Their mission is to relieve the stress of financial obligations during such difficult times, not only for the individuals suffering physically, but for their families as well. They believe that by alleviating financial burdens, they can aide in the healing process of those in need. They feel so blessed to dedicate the first annual Friends Raising Funds campaign to Lisa Millerick-Thompson and her family! What started as a dream, has quickly become a reality with help from some amazing local companies, such as; Michael's Harley Davidson, Guy Fieri, Community Home Builders Group, The Engine Is Red, Chrome Lotus, Fusion Fitness and 96.7 BOB FM! Each local partner plays a pivotal role in helping this organization get off the ground and restore hope within this family and group of friends. Friends Raising Funds has a goal to raise $100,000.00 in the next year to help with Lisa's care. Almost immediately Michael's Harley Davidson donated a new 2008 Harley Davidson Softail Rocker that has been fully customized by Guy Fieri and the Michael's crew to raffle off for the cause! "I've known Lisa and Paul for years. Sonoma County to me is one big family and coming together to help one another out makes this community great," said Guy Fieri. Also 96.7 BOB FM is giving away a trip to Las Vegas on December 19th, 2009 where you will get to join Guy Fieri on his culinary tour at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay and see the Bike!!
