MINNETONKA, Minn., Jan. 24 Softscope Medical Technologies,Inc., an early stage medical device company developing an innovativetechnology to significantly improve endoscopic procedures, announced today theappointment of John E. Schellhorn as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Schellhornhas more than 23 years of experience in the medical device field, mostrecently with ev3 Inc., a global leader in the manufacture of minimallyinvasive devices to treat vascular disease and disorders.

Prior to his position at ev3 Inc. as Vice President of Sales and Marketingfor the Peripheral Vascular Division, Mr. Schellhorn served as InternationalVice President and General Manager for ACMI Corporation, which was acquired byGyrus PLC in 2005. Prior to ACMI Corporation, he was Vice President of Salesfor DePuy AcroMed, a division of Johnson & Johnson, and spent seven years withBoston Scientific in positions including Director of Sales and Marketing,Asia/Pacific; General Manager, Australia; and Vice President of Sales for theMicrovasive Urology Division.
