NEW YORK, June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Smile in the City, a New York dentist office that offers laser dentistry services, full mouth reconstruction and other cosmetic dental procedures, expands its capabilities with the latest in dental technology. The office can now treat patients with same-day crowns using new CEREC technology, which makes receiving a crown simpler and more convenient. Smile in the City is also one of just three offices in New York to offer Galileos Cone Beam 3D imaging, a system that produces clear, complete images of patients' teeth, jaw and face.

"Receiving the proper dental treatment should not have to be an inconvenience, and too many people avoid the right care simply because they don't have the time. With our new CEREC software, we have the capabilities to place a crown safely and effectively in a single dental visit, so patients can be in and out of the office with a beautiful, healthy smile," said Dr. Joseph Zelig, Board Certified periodontist at Smile in the City.

Dental crowns look like real teeth and are placed over teeth that are decayed or damaged. CEREC 3D software helps dentists create a ceramic restoration of the patient's tooth by turning a digital image of the tooth into a 3D virtual model, which is then used to create the crown in just 10 to 20 minutes. Patients can come into the office with a damaged tooth and leave with a restored smile.

Smile in the City's Galileos Cone Beam technology allows dentists to take more accurate and comprehensive images of a patient's mouth than traditional dental X-rays. With the quick results of Galileos Cone Beam imaging, dentists can assess the patients' dental health and create an effective dental plan immediately. Galileos Cone Beam 3D imaging is used to examine patients' dental structures and determine if they are good candidates for New York dental implants.

"Our Galileos Cone Beam imaging technology gives us clear, complete views of patients' dental structure. With such detailed images, we can provide the accurate and effective treatment that our patients need and deserve. The Smile in the City team understands the importance of keeping up with the latest in dental treatments. We provide the most up-to-date and effective methods so that patients can get the smile they want today," said Dr. Zelig.
