Siemens Taps Top Energy Expert as New Head of U.S. Business

NEW YORK, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Siemens announced today that Eric Spiegel has been named president and CEO of Siemens Corporation. Spiegel, an influential international management consultant and energy expert, starts the position on January 18.

Spiegel was previously Senior Vice President and Senior Partner at Booz & Co. and brings more than 25 years of experience in key energy, manufacturing and utility industries.  He is co-author of the book, "Energy Shift: Game-changing Options for Fueling the Future," and is a well-known thought leader and advisor in the energy sector.

Based in Washington, D.C., Spiegel will further serve as a strong voice on policy issues that affect Siemens and its customers, and drive the company's business and efforts in sustainability and green technologies.  Spiegel also adds experience in the areas of healthcare, water and transportation.

Originally from Ohio, Eric holds a Bachelor's degree with Honors in Economics from Harvard University, as well as an MBA from the Tuck Graduate School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he was an Edward Tuck Scholar. Eric is located in the Washington, D.C. area, where he lives with his wife and two teenage children.
