SOUTH EASTON, Mass., May 21 PressureBioSciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: PBIO) ("PBI") today announced that scientists fromthe New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, the Brooklyn HospitalCenter, and the Harvard School of Public Health made presentationshighlighting the advantages of the Company's patented pressure cyclingtechnology (PCT) at three different scientific meetings earlier this week. There were three oral presentations and four poster presentations, allrelating to research studies focused on cancer, stroke, obesity, biomarkerdiscovery, and in-vitro fertilization.

BIOMARKER WORLD CONGRESS 2008 (Philadelphia, PA). Dr. Paul Pevsner (NYUSchool of Medicine) gave an oral presentation on Monday, May 19th on coloncancer. PCT was used by Dr. Pevsner and colleagues to extract proteins fromcolon tissue samples prior to analysis. Dr. Pevsner reported that new andadditional proteins were extracted with PCT when compared to conventionalextraction methods. Dr. Pevsner also reported that he and his colleagues wereable to reduce the time required for preparing these proteins with trypsin forfurther analysis from 12 hours to under 45 minutes by using PCT, which hestated was a significant advantage over current techniques. Dr. Pevsnerconcluded that a change in the current paradigm of tumor diagnosis and stagingmay be needed, a paradigm in which PCT may play a pivotal role given the powerof the technique to efficiently extract proteins from tissue samples and tosubsequently quickly prepare them for downstream analysis.

GETTING OPTIMIZED TOOLS FOR DIAGNOSTICS (GOT Summit 2008 - Boston, MA).Dr. Alexander Ivanov (Harvard School of Public Health) gave an oralpresentation on Tuesday, May 20th on the use of PCT and PCT-dependent reagents(ProteoSolve-LRS Kit) for the efficient recovery of proteins from lipid-richadipose (fat) tissue. Adipose tissue plays a key role in several biomedicalprocesses that are linked to obesity, insulin resistance, inflammation, andother physiological complications. Dr. Ivanov indicated that efficient andgood quality analysis of adipose tissue is highly valuable in studies of thesediseases. Adipose tissue is comprised of up to 80-90% lipid, which makesconventional detergent-based protein extraction methods inefficient anddifficult. Dr. Ivanov found that the combination of PCT and ProteoSolve-LRSresulted in a much faster, less expensive, and higher quality extractionprocess, as compared to current methods.

ACS MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL MEETING (MARM 2008 - New York, NY). Dr. Pevsnergave an oral presentation on Tuesday May 20th. In addition, he and hiscolleagues from the NYU School of Medicine and the Brooklyn Hospital Centeralso gave four poster presentations at this meeting. Dr. Pevsner's talkcentered on the importance of sample preparation, and how the quality ofsample preparation directly affects the quality of downstream results. Dr.Pevsner shared data illustrating the efficiency and quality of PCT results ascompared to conventional methods in use today, and concluded that samplepreparation using PCT resulted in a better quality extraction of proteins fromtissue samples. On the same day, Dr. Pevsner and his colleagues deliveredfour poster presentations, which described the use of PCT in the extraction ofproteins from breast and colon cancer tissue samples, as well as from thenutrient media used with in-vitro fertilization study procedures. The posterpresentations reported that PCT increased protein yield and helped to identifyproteins not previously seen in such samples. These presentations concludedthat such enhanced extraction of proteins by PCT may result in new therapeuticstrategies, diagnostic paradigms, and enhanced analysis of samples.
