Select Medical Names Scott Nordlund To Lead Partnership Growth And Innovation

MECHANICSBURG, Pa., Nov. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Select Medical Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Select Medical Holdings Corporation (NYSE: SEM), today announced the appointment of Scott Nordlund to Executive Vice President, Partnership Growth & Innovation.  In this new role, Nordlund will be responsible for leading strategic growth initiatives across the organization's national network of specialty hospitals, outpatient rehabilitation clinics and occupational health centers.  Nordlund will report to Select Medical President and Chief Executive Officer David Chernow

Nordlund joins Select Medical after four years at Trinity Health where he served as Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer and built the organization's first growth, strategy and innovation team.  In this capacity, Nordlund led the development of Trinity Health's enterprise-wide vision, strategy and execution for people-centered care.  Before that, Nordlund spent 11 years at Dignity Health in a variety of executive roles, including Senior Vice President for Strategic Growth, Network and New Venture Development.  Earlier in his career, Nordlund held senior leadership positions with Navvis Group, BJC Health System in St. Louis and Baxter Healthcare in Chicago.

In addition, Nordlund currently sits on the board of directors at St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, California, as well as the Mercy Health Network board in Iowa.  Previous board appointments include St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania and St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.  He also served as chairman of the Arizona Surgical LLC Board, as well as board chair of the Strategy Committee for Mercy Care Plan, a 360,000-member, $4 billion Medicaid plan.

Nordlund holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Illinois and two master's degrees (Business Administration and Health Services Administration) from the University of Michigan.
