PARIS, March 30, 2010 Intercim, announces that SanofiPasteur, the vaccines division of the Sanofi-aventis Group, is acceleratingthe use of Pertinence Suite, Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM)software solution, within the European and North American sites of theworldwide leader of vaccines.
Vaccines come from complex biological processes. The understanding ofsuch manufacturing process is one of the key elements to master productsquality and production units performances. Since 2003, Sanofi Pasteur hasused the Pertinence Suite solution to better understand, improve reliabilityand optimize industrial processes.
Rene Labatut, Vice President Manufacturing of Sanofi Pasteur explains:"Manufacturing, and guaranteeing the highest level of quality and safety forthe patient, and the optimum performances for the company, are key objectivesof process understanding. It is also a corporate challenge in the currentcompetitive environment. The use of Pertinence Suite for understandingmechanisms which drive our complex processes is an asset that providesanswers to this double requirement in an efficient manner".
The new deployment of Pertinence Suite demonstrates the willingness toimplement in a very operational manner the approach promoted by theregulatory bodies through the ICH Quality by Design (QbD). This approach aimsat mastering manufacturing processes and efficiently, while sharing with theauthorities the understanding of the mechanisms which drive products criticalquality attributes.
Yann d'Aramon, Director Europe of Intercim adds: "We are very pleased ofSanofi Pasteur decision to spread the use of our solutions through theirplants around the world. With our solutions, Sanofi Pasteur can identify andset up in real-time, parameters influencing the product quality, and movingforward, better control process variability. This is a recurrent challengefor the pharmaceutical industry which needs to consistently deliver vaccineson time, with a perfect traceability."
Intercim has a 27-year history of helping advanced and highly regulatedmanufacturers reach their business goals through best in class softwaresolutions. Early 2009, Dassault Systemes a world leader in 3D and ProductLifecycle Management took a minority position in Intercim. Both companiesconsider critical that information exchange and collaboration betweenengineering, manufacturing and the supply network be handled in real-time.For the first time, the combination of Intercim's software capabilities withthe virtual experience provided by Dassault Systemes' solutions allows thistype of mission-critical collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Intercim works mainly for advanced and highly regulated industries andwith industry-leading customers such as Boeing, Sanofi Pasteur, BallAerospace, BMW, and Honeywell.
