SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 18 Samplify Systems, Inc., aprovider of mixed-signal compression solutions for intelligent dataconversion, today extends its distribution channel to China with theannouncement of Cytech Technology as its newest distributor in the region. Asthe fastest growing distributor of electronic components in Hong Kong andChina, Cytech will be a key ally driving Samplify's recently launched SAM1600family of A/D converters, with the company's integrated real-time signalcompression technology, into the rapidly expanding Chinese medical imaging andwireless base stations markets.

"We are excited to work with Cytech to make more readily available theexceptional system and cost benefits of the SAM1600 family to Chinesemanufacturers of ultrasound and cellular base station equipment," said AllanEvans, VP of marketing for Samplify. "Thanks to Cytech, we have engagementswith all of the top ultrasound manufacturers in the China market. With Cytechon board, these customers will receive excellent local support as theyevaluate our products."

Samplify's Prism(TM) real-time signal compression embedded in the SAM1600family devices delivers high value for ultrasound systems and multi-antenna,direct-conversion WiMax base stations. The SAM1600 family provides twice thechannel density and half the power of existing solutions without sacrificinganalog performance for ultrasound front-ends. SAM1600 members also are wellsuited for digital repeaters and fourth generation (4G) wireless base stationsusing smart antenna or MIMO (multiple-in-multiple-out) technology. 4Gwireless systems can take advantage of the cost savings of direct-conversionradio architectures enabled by these devices. SAM1600 enables wireless OEMsto send increased amounts of baseband data over the same fiber-opticinfrastructure already in place for 3G systems.

"Since engaging with Samplify earlier this year, we have seen tremendousacceptance of the company's compression technology and intelligent dataconverters within our medical imaging and wireless infrastructure accounts,"said Horace Lai, Technical Marketing Manager of Cytech Ltd, Hong Kong. "Withtheir technology available in both silicon and FPGA forms, we can uniquelyoffer complete end-to-end signal compression solutions to our customers."

Samples of Samplify's SAM1600 family of intelligent ADCs are currentlyavailable through Cytech's sales offices throughout China and Hong Kong.
