Saia Partners with Susan G. Komen for the Cure

JOHNS CREEK, Ga., May 14 Saia, Inc.(Nasdaq: SAIA) is pleased to announce the launch of a unique yearlong breastcancer awareness campaign, "Saia on the Road with Susan G. Komen for theCure."

Saia, a leading less-than-truckload carrier, has dedicated a 53 foottrailer that features artwork designed to raise awareness about the diseaseand the need for increased research to find a cure. As the "pink truck"travels throughout the United States, its progress will be tracked both onlineand on the back of the trailer.

On May 14, the pink trailer was unveiled during the campaign kick-off,which was held at Saia headquarters in Johns Creek, Ga. Nearly 150 supportersand employees were on hand to celebrate the trailer's unveiling by SaiaPresident and CEO Rick O'Dell including guest speaker and WXIA anchor KarynGreer; Kelly Dolan, executive director of Susan G. Komen for the Cure'sAtlanta affiliate; Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker; and several localdignitaries including members of the Johns Creek City Council. During thekick-off, Bodker presented O'Dell with a mayoral letter of recognition inhonor of Saia's efforts to increase breast cancer awareness.

Tremendous strides have been made in the fight against breast cancer, butthe road to a cure remains long. Susan G. Komen for the Cure estimates that inthe year 2008, 182,460 women in the United States will be diagnosed withinvasive breast cancer and 40,480 women will die from the disease. While allwomen are at risk of developing breast cancer, early detection can play a keyrole in lowering the risk of mortality.

"Unfortunately it is hard to find someone whose life hasn't been touchedby breast cancer. Whether they were directly affected or watched a loved onebattle this devastating disease, both the physical and emotional impact ofbreast cancer is tremendous," said Sally Buchholz, Saia's vice president ofmarketing and customer service. "Saia recognizes the role increased awareness,education, and research will have toward eradicating breast cancer and we arecommitted to helping Susan G. Komen for the Cure reach that goal."
