Safeway Eastern Division Raises Over One Million Dollars for People With Disabilities: Easter Seals Hosts 'Thanks a Million Tea Party'

WHAT: "Thanks a Million Event Tea Party" -- Easter Seals thanks Safeway Eastern Division for raising over a million dollars to support programs serving people with disabilities.

After a successful fundraising campaign in April, which raised $692,000 for Easter Seals clients -- The Safeway Foundation sponsored the 21st Annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament in June and raised an additional $435,815.00 for a grand total of $1,127,815.00.

Young children will "host" the tea party at the new Child Development Center in Maryland (slated to open late summer) as a way of saying "thanks" to Safeway for supporting Easter Seals. The center is part of Easter Seals new Intergenerational Center -- housing an Adult Day Services Center, a Child Development Center, Assistive Technology Center and a Caregiver Resource Center in addition to the regional headquarters offices.
