As a core component of SSM's electronic health record (EHR) project,OnBase already has made physicians more efficient, allowing each physician tosee approximately three more patients on a daily basis. OnBase givesphysicians access to the most up-to-date medical records and supportingdocumentation making patient information such as medication requirements orprevious illnesses more accurate and physicians more effective.

Because the implementation date was set with a strict deadline of March30, 2008, SSM had to find a solution that was both flexible and scalable.With OnBase's capability to be implemented in phases while also integratingwith EPIC, Microsoft(R) SharePoint(R) and SAP(R), SSM was able to reach thedeadline while staying within budget.
"We saw a need for a system to grow and scale with us while also beingable to move outside of scope of the electronic health record," related ChrisBullerdick, IT Director at SSM Health Care. "As a partnership, HylandSoftware worked with us to go-live with OnBase in 45 days in the firsthospital and will eventually scale OnBase across more than 5,000 physicians inour system."
