TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks(TM) and TIBCO Enterprise MessageService(TM) were chosen for the project because of their proven ability towork with applications in a heterogeneous environment. In addition, the rangeof adaptors offered by TIBCO outshone those from rival vendors on the SERISshortlist. The administrator is in the final stages of testing BusinessWorksagainst the HL7 healthcare interoperability standard, which SERIS said wouldsave it significant time and cost in development.
The company expects to gain benefits in three major areas from itsadoption of TIBCO as its integration standard: resolving any outstandingsynchronisation issues with multi-platform applications; reducing developmenttime mapping data formats between different applications; and allowing staffto develop interfaces much more easily. The real-time infrastructure will alsoprovide a more efficient service for patients from the moment they try to makean appointment to when they are checking out.
