Ridgeview Medical Center Implements SUPER(TM) Energy Efficiency Program

ST. PAUL, Minn., Sept. 10 NewMech Facility Solutions,Inc., a CorVal Group Company, has completed a $260,000 energy efficiencyagreement for Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia, MN, utilizing the SustainableUtility Partnership for Energy Reduction (SUPER) program. This projectutilized various financial incentives offered by Xcel Energy and CenterPointEnergy. Ridgeview was the first Minnesota hospital to utilize the MinnesotaDepartment of Commerce Energy Investment Loan Program. This program uses theState Energy Fund for up to a 50% participation in a loan or lease from aprivate lender or other financing source.

The project included energy-saving electrical, mechanical and energymanagement improvements at the hospital and two clinic locations. Ridgeviewand NewMech Facility Solutions jointly developed the SUPER concept andleadership for the project.

Ridgeview and 127 other hospitals, health systems and health careorganizations were honored at Hospitals for a Healthy Environment's (H2E)annual meeting for their achievements in reducing waste, & energyconservation, & improving environmental performance. Ridgeview was one ofeight health care organizations to receive the Environmental Leadership Award.

The H2E Environmental Leadership Award is the highest award given tohealth care for outstanding environmental performance. Recipients aredistinguished by pioneering efforts to reduce the health care industry'senvironmental impact. Ridgeview Medical Center is Minnesota's first healthcare facility to be part of H2E's Top Environmental Leadership Circle.
