RainDance's 28,000-square-foot building in Lexington will more than doubleits former space in Guilford, Conn. RainDance plans to increase its workforceby some 50 percent -- adding new biologists and chemists, mechanical engineersand technicians, software programmers, customer service representatives, andadministrative support -- and will employ nearly 100 within the year.

Company officials made the decision to relocate to Massachusetts based onGovernor Deval Patrick's Life Sciences Initiative.
RainDance will also announce a collaboration with a major pharmaceuticalcompany to develop a new droplet-based methodology for the drug discoveryprocess.
RainDance's new RainStorm(TM) droplet-based microfluidic technology hasbroad use in the prediction and prevention of human disease. The simplicity,speed, and capabilities of the technology will enable researchers to designexperiments in ways previously unaffordable or unimaginable. RainStormtechnology will find numerous uses in biomedical applications, includinggenomics research, gene expression analysis, compound screening, and biomarkerdetection.
