The Quantros announcement comes as federal officials today issued a final rule defining meaningful use requirements to qualify for incentive payments under the HITECH portion of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The final rule outlines Stage 1 meaningful use and clinical quality measure reporting criteria that must be met to be eligible for the payments starting next year.

Healthcare Providers Key Benefits

"Quantros is strongly positioned to support the needs of healthcare organizations during the adoption of EHRs and beyond," said Sanjaya Kumar, MD, President and CEO of Quantros. "We offer complementary technology solutions that can help healthcare organizations demonstrate meaningful use of EHRs across the three stages identified in the HITECH Act. Our applications interface with external data systems to bring together previously disassociated data sets, and this gives decision makers information they can use to improve quality and safety."

"Healthcare organizations will need to create a system of complementary technologies that meets not only meaningful use requirements but fits in with their clinical and technical environments," said Gerard Livaudais, MD, EVP of Product Management at Quantros. "Doing a good job with this from early on will also provide healthcare providers great market position in competing on outcomes and value. Quantros is strongly positioned to be a significant portion of that system."
