PITTSBURGH, Sept. 9 A news conference and tour of Pittsburgh's newest state-of-the-art continuing care retirement community -- Providence Point -- is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 10.

The $225 million retirement community is located on the site of the original John Kane Hospital just off Bower Hill Road in Scott Township.
Baptist Homes Society president and chief executive officer Todd Swortzel will be available for questions with a tour to follow. The Baptist Homes Society, developer of Providence Point, has been serving Greater Pittsburgh for the past 100 years.

Residents began moving into their Providence Point homes in June.
The LifeCare community includes 35 patio homes, 222 independent living apartments, 64 apartments for assisted living, 63 private residences for nursing care and 20 private memory support residences. The patio homes have two-car garages. There is also a 222-space underground parking garage as well as a Wellness Center with an indoor pool, a fitness room, a multi-purpose area, theater, banking service, art studio, and three separate dining areas.
