The Omni Spray 2-D Ion Source achieves a step resolution down to 50microns and has an open access sample stage that fits up to 3 standard OmniSlides(TM) or an Omni Slide - 96. A new feature of the Omni Spray 2-D IonSource allows for angle adjustment of DESI spray head without changing othergeometrical parameters for quick optimization. The 2-D Ion Source is softwarecontrolled with an intuitive graphical user interface. The new Omni Spray 2-DIon Source is easy to install and remove allowing for rapid turnaround whenswitching to another ion source.

Highlights of the 2-D Source includes the ability to perform surfaceimaging experiments at atmospheric pressure such as the direct analysis, tissue samples or even thin layer chromatography (TLC) plates. The 2-D Sourceis also able to analyze 96 sample spots in less than ten minutes.
"The versatility of the 2-D platform allows for scientists to conduct alltypes of DESI experiments that range from analysis of a single spot, to highthroughput in a micro-titer plate, all the way to imaging surfaces, all atambient conditions," said Justin Wiseman, Director of Research and Developmentfor Prosolia, Inc.
Prosolia, Inc. was established in 2003 to commercialize technology arisingfrom the laboratory of Professor R. Graham Cooks, Aston Laboratories of MassSpectrometry at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Professor Cooksand his research team have been innovators in the field of mass spectrometryfor many years. Prosolia's first product line, Omni Spray Ion Source, utilizesthe revolutionary ambient ionization technology known as DesorptionElectrospray Ionization (DESI). DESI is a simple, sensitive, gentle, andversatile ionization method that allows for the direct and rapid sampling ofsurfaces without any sample preparation.
