ST. PAUL, Minn., April 6 NBA stars Kevin Love and Al Jefferson and University of Minnesota Basketball Coach Tubby Smith are among local sports celebrities saying a special thank you to Minnesota Nurses in a new online video. (View the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQT63pG60Lw)

The video, made by the Minnesota Nurses Association (http://www.mnnurses.org), features Love, Jefferson, Smith and NHL players Derek Boogaard and Nate Prosser thanking Registered Nurses (RNs) and telling stories about people in their lives who work in the profession.

"As nurses, it's always great to hear 'thank you,' but it's especially meaningful coming from some of the biggest names in Minnesota sports," says Linda Hamilton, RN, President of the MNA. "It just reminds us that everyone - including sports stars - needs medical care at one time or another, and that nurses have been and always will be there for our patients."

Founded in 1905, the Minnesota Nurses Association currently represents more than 20,000 nurses across the state.
