MARQUETTE, Mich., Dec. 3 Pioneer Surgical Technology, Inc., a surgeon-driven leader in innovative medical devices, received 2 awards in the Cervical Spine Care category at the 2009 Spine Technology Awards gala held recently in San Francisco, California in conjunction with the North American Spine Society annual meeting.

Pioneer Surgical's next generation technologies receiving awards were the NuNec® Cervical Total Disc replacement (CTDR) device and nanOss(TM) Cervical, a machined hydroxyapatite (HA) interbody spacer. These products were among 26 new and emerging technologies honored for their likelihood to advance cost-effective care of patients with spine problems.

The awards are presented annually by Orthopedics This Week, the most widely read publication in the Orthopaedic industry.
