EXTON, Pa., May 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Physiotherapy Associates, the nation's foremost provider of outpatient rehabilitation services, opened nine new clinics in the first quarter of 2011. This latest set of facilities expands Physiotherapy Associates' footprint of comprehensive physical therapy, orthotics and prosthetics services, serving thousands of patients annually in more than 30 states.

"We're committed to the continued expansion of Physiotherapy Associates so we can bring our industry-leading quality care to a large number of patients," said Dan Connors, CEO of Physiotherapy Associates. "Our organic growth is based on our plan to enter or expand into a number of communities, allowing our patients to lead healthier lives," said Mr. Connors.

In the first quarter of 2011, Physiotherapy Associates opened clinics in the following locations: Castle Rock, CO; Silver Spring, MD; Omaha, NE; Indian Trail, NC; Olathe, KS; Overland Park, KS; Franklin, TN; Bear, DE; and Tyrone, PA. The two Kansas start-ups are noteworthy, as they mark the first Physiotherapy Associates clinics in the state, with additional facilities in the state slated to open later this year.

In the second quarter of 2011, Physiotherapy Associates plans to open 13 clinics.  Overall, the company plans to open 35 to 40 clinics nationwide in 2011, and strategic acquisitions of existing physical therapy clinics will be analyzed for growth and integration potential. "To maintain our company's position as a leading physical therapy services provider, we know that expansion and targeted acquisitions are critical," Mr. Connors stated.

All Physiotherapy Associates clinics are staffed by licensed physical therapists who provide individualized plans of treatment for patients. With a comprehensive set of services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, certified hand therapy, sports medicine, industrial rehabilitation, craniofacial therapy, women's health, pre-op rehabilitation, and orthotics and prosthetics, the company's clinics are well-equipped to treat a wide variety of patient conditions.
