Physician Offers New, Old-Fashioned Health Care to Duluth Area Patients

DULUTH, Ga., Oct. 15 Mathew J. Britton, M.D., will open anew primary care practice designed to appeal to patients in search of auser-friendly alternative to the long wait times, rushed appointments and lackof personal interaction that most patients experience with their doctors.

The latest of several ModernMed practices nationwide, Dr. Britton willserve patients in the Duluth and metro Atlanta area and is scheduled to openon Nov. 10. The practice will accommodate a maximum of only 500 patients,compared to the 2,500 patient load of the average primary medical practice.

Concierge medicine is gaining popularity across the nation as a growingnumber of Americans report dissatisfaction with current health care services.Studies have shown that adults in the U.S. report lower levels of satisfactionwith their health care compared to residents of similar countries like theU.K. and Canada.

Dr. Britton believes in a strong educational background to provide qualityservices to his patients. "Solid education and training are very important tobeing a good doctor," said Dr. Britton. "This is why I continually increase myknowledge of medical care with 30 hours of additional training through theIntensive Family Practice Review, biweekly programs on advances in medicine."

The distinguishing characteristic of the practice is the extraordinarylevel of access to Dr. Britton and his staff. In addition to regular officehours of Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday 2:30 p.m.to 4 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., patients are guaranteed same-day ornext-day appointments, and Dr. Britton will make house calls to help thosewith limited access to care. Dr. Britton will treat patients age five and older with a broad range ofwellness services to complement his preventive approach to primary healthcare. Patients will receive annual comprehensive wellness exams and havedirect access to their electronic medical records. Services include in-housex-rays, minor surgeries, asthma treatment, IV therapy, cardiac stress testingand well-woman care. Dr. Britton also specializes in cosmetic servicesincluding, Botox, Juviderm and Restalyn and lipodissolve.

A graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Brittonis board-certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians. He completedboth his internship and residency at Mercy Hospital Family Practice in Toledo,Ohio.

Dr. Britton has published several studies in his career, including thoseon gatifloxacin, imitrex impact, respiratory surveillance study andmicrobiology surveillance study of community acquired respiratory tractinfections. His work also includes an abstract for the American HeartAssociation focusing on patients with previous revascularization.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Southern MedicalAssociation, the International Society of Lipolysistherapy, the AmericanAcademy of Anti-Aging Medicine and the General Composite State Board ofMedical Examiners.
