Pharos Innovations Joins Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease

NORTHFIELD, Ill., Nov. 25 Pharos Innovations, a pioneer inassisting clients to achieve next generation clinical and financialperformance improvement through a device-free remote monitoring platform,today joined the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease (PFCD), a coalition ofleaders from the healthcare, business, policy and labor communities committedto making chronic disease the key healthcare issue in the new presidentialadministration.

Pharos joins more than 80 partner organizations in the fight againstchronic disease. The partnership is led by former U.S. SurgeonGeneral Richard H. Carmona, M.D. and Ken Thorpe, PhD, chair of the RollinsSchool of Public Health at Emory University and a former White House healthpolicy advisor.

Chronic diseases are responsible for seven out of every 10 deaths in theU.S. -- causing more than 1.7 million American deaths every year, according tothe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Chronic diseases arealso the primary driver of healthcare costs, accounting for more than 75percent of the $2 trillion dollars spent each year on healthcare in the U.S.
