DENVER, Sept. 10 Global Med Technologies((R)), Inc. ("Global Med" or the "Company") (OTC Bulletin Board: GLOB), an international e-Health, medical information technology company, today announced that its Wyndgate Technologies division has licensed and deployed its SafeTrace Tx((R)) transfusion management software to Schuylkill Health of Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Schuylkill is also using the services of Global Med's PeopleMed((R)) subsidiary to validate the systems before go-live. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
SafeTrace Tx, first introduced in 1999, is an industry leader in transfusion management software. The system is designed to raise the standard of care for patients, improve safety, reduce waste and increase efficiency. SafeTrace Tx provides comprehensive tracking of orders, specimens, blood products, derivatives, and accessories with a complete testing and transfusion history in one consolidated record. These complex features will assist Schuylkill's technologists in selecting appropriate blood products for their patients and will allow their hospitals to access patient data from any facility in their system.
Cheryl Gipe, MLT (ASCP), MT (HEW) Blood Bank Section Head for Schuylkill Medical Center-East explained, "Schuylkill wanted a common transfusion management system to monitor our blood banks and interface with our new CPSI laboratory information system. CPSI referred us to Wyndgate and one other vendor. In November 2008, after visiting a Wyndgate client to see the system live, we knew within 15 minutes that we wanted the Wyndgate SafeTrace Tx system. It is user friendly and has a great tracking system."
Ms. Gipe continued, "Our administration wanted the system in our hospital live by July 1, 2009. A typical implementation takes approximately nine months. With the help and support of Wyndgate, CPSI and PeopleMed, we were able to accomplish this in four months. Wyndgate's team worked very hard to make sure we met the deadline. CPSI and Wyndgate made sure the interfaces worked properly and PeopleMed validated the system prior to go-live. I cannot say enough good things about the service we received."
PeopleMed's validation services provided Schuylkill staff with AVI validation files in addition to their regular documentation after the go-live. The video files show PeopleMed staff performing the actual processes used during Schuylkill's validation. These files will become invaluable training tools later when their staff needs to understand specific procedures.
Wm. Scott Dustin, Global Med's Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing - the Americas, commented, "Schuylkill, Wyndgate and PeopleMed staffs worked together well to accomplish this impressive time line. We are very pleased that Schuylkill had the confidence in our products and our ability to deliver their system on time. We look forward to working with Schuylkill to complete implementations in their other facilities. We also appreciate our great relationship with CPSI." Mr. Dustin continued, "Global Med companies offer clients far more than quality information systems. As a business solutions company, we provide our clients with solutions and resources to help them achieve their objectives. Our team of professionals is dedicated to providing service at the highest level. We believe our business units continue to grow as a direct result of this commitment to the customer and delivering outstanding results."
