PacketSure 8.5 analyzes files and data being transferred on a network in real time, such as users emailing unencrypted credit card numbers over the public Internet, sending Social Security numbers, using Internet file transfers to share protected medical records and more. - Endpoint protection. PacketSure now monitors and blocks files with content violations being copied to external devices including CDs or DVDs, USB drives, and FireWire (a high performance serial bus used to connect devices to a computer).
- SafeSearch. SafeSearch excludes adult oriented content from the search results for specific search engines. Enabling SafeSearch also allows access to these SafeSearch sites even when the search engine web category is set to block.
- Landing Pages. PacketSure's top navigation tabs now open on a landing page that contains icons for the features that are available. Landing pages can be customized which in turn creates easier navigation.
- Centralized management and reporting system (CMS) functionality enhancements. PacketSure appliances connected to a CMS can now receive URL list and software updates straight from the CMS rather than in a separate download from the Palisade servers thereby making updating faster and easier and reduces the impact on the organization's network.
