Xtremityscan is a digital shape acquisition system that allows users toacquire three-dimensional foot shapes in seconds, without the messy,time-consuming plaster casting process formerly used to obtain the sameinformation. Xtremityscan is available as a mobile cart-based scanning system thatoperates wirelessly and can move between treatment rooms, or as a portablemodel that can travel among multiple offices.
System software captures an image of the plantar surface of the foot, thencreates a three-dimensional model of the image. Images can be rotated 360degrees and displayed in wireframe, surface and topographical views.
Prescriptions are easily uploaded via PAL's secure servers. Duringuploads, the system automatically detects and transparently installs anynecessary software updates.
Xtremityscan is available for lease through PAL, and is currently in useacross the United States.
