FREMONT, Calif., April 13 Optovue, a pioneer in fourier/spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT), has founded "Eye-Give," a non-profit foundation for the purposes of donating technology and funding to sight saving charities and organizations around the world.

"With the international launch of iVue recently, that dream has moved forward another step in making this imaging technology available to more levels of eye healthcare where advanced systems are not economically feasible. We wish to extend that reach even further by providing this compact system to the organizations around the world dedicated to fighting eye disease in areas where access to newer technology is limited."

About RTVue and iVue
RTVue was the first FDA cleared fourier-domain (also known as spectral domain) OCT launched in the United States, and also the first OCT cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for both corneal and retinal imaging. The iVue is the compact fourier-domain version of the RTVue OCT, offering the same scanning speed and resolution as the larger system, producing extremely high definition images with more biological detail and functional advantages than the previous technology.
