Online Career Tool Expands, Increases Reach

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., July 21 Building on its reputation asan online job board and careers tool site for life-science professionalsleader, Bio Career Center (http://www.biocareercenter.com) has partnered withthree new schools, rounding out an already elite consortium of highereducation institutions.

This month, Weill Cornell Medical College, the University of NorthCarolina Chapel Hill and the University of Miami joined the site, whichfeatures a jobs board that gathers the life-sciences postgraduate and clinicalcommunities of each member school into one place.

"We are excited about partnering with three top East Coast schools deeplyconcerned about the careers of their life scientists," said Nick Folger,president of Bio Career Center.

Bio Career Center also works with Berkeley; Caltech; Emory; ScrippsInstitute; Stanford; University of California, San Francisco; University ofColorado, Denver; University of Miami; University of Pennsylvania; Vanderbilt;and the University of Washington.

Since January, Bio Career Center has expanded its service each month,offering new and unique tools to assist those entering and currently in lifescience fields. Its successful additions include: the Expert SeminarProgram -- a dual-purpose service that provides employers a chance to meetpotential candidates, and vice versa, while giving M.D's and Ph.D's theopportunity to perfect their networking, interviewing, business etiquetteskills; Career Navigator -- a proven online tool designed to help those in thelife science sector transition within their field with success; and Bio SkillsSelect -- a multiple-choice question and answer tool, which assists employersand candidates in the job match process.
