A 9th grade student came to the clinic knowing that she saw her surroundings in a blur, but always thought that was normal. After receiving her first pair of glasses, she was in complete shock and said, "I can see the world now! I cannot wait to go outside and see what everything looks like and to finally be able to see the board clearly in school."

The Vision Care Clinic is made possible thanks to the support of more than 40 core team members and optometrists, as well as local volunteers and OneSight partner Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCU) and its program, Score 1 for Health.

The clinic is running alongside OneSight's 'Victory is in Sight' campaign. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about the powerful difference a simple pair of glasses can make. OneSight aims to provide 20 million people with access to glasses by 2020.

"One in seven people in the world cannot see clearly, because they lack access to eye exams and glasses," said Mony Iyer, President and Executive Director at OneSight.  "We know through our work in communities that glasses do so much more than give clear sight. They help fight illiteracy.  They help combat poverty. We are very grateful to the sponsors, donors and volunteers who are helping to give Kansas City children and adults the opportunity to see their potential."
