RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Master's and doctoral degree students planning to becomenursing instructors at North Carolina public and private colleges and universities may apply for the Nurse Educators of Tomorrow (NET) scholarship-loan for the 2010-11 academic year at the college information site, CFNC.org/NET.
NET awards for recipients are valued at $15,000 per year for up to two years for master's degree-seeking students and up to three years for doctoral degree-seeking students.
Candidates must be legal residents of North Carolina for tuition purposes, have a minimum 3.2 grade point average and enroll in a program that would permit them to become nursing instructors in an approved program in North Carolina. Enrollment in either a master's degree or doctoral degree program in nursing education or any health care field that enables the applicant to teach in an approved nursing program is required.
Applications will be accepted as long as funds remain available. Selections are made by the North Carolina Nurse Scholars Commission based on superior academics, leadership potential and desire to become a nursing instructor in North Carolina on a full time basis.
Upon completion of their nursing education program, scholarship-loan recipients must agree to teach in a nursing program at a North Carolina public or private college or university. Students who do not fulfill the service obligation must repay the scholarship-loan in cash with 10% interest.
Additional program details, selection criteria and an application are available at CFNC.org/NET. For more information on the nursing scholarship-loan, you also may contact the NCSEAA at 919-549-8614 (select option "1") or 800-700-1775 (select option "1") or email [email protected].
