November is National Caregivers Month

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 19 "In light of the study on thefinancial cost of caregiving being released today by the National Alliance forCaregiving, I would ask that we also consider the hidden physical andemotional costs experienced by caregivers. While anyone may find them selfsuddenly in a caregiving situation and ages of caregivers range widely, thestress endured by long-term primary caregivers due to the emotional andfinancial costs, make them more susceptible to depression and illness. Withsuch high costs in mind, I encourage members of families everywhere duringthis holiday season, to take stock of their family's situation and give thanksto those providing the caregiving for family members in need. And, if you area primary caregiver, please learn to care for yourself and start asking forhelp now."
