At NMHC, 70 percent of managers are women and 80 percent of the total workforce is women. To be considered for the NAFE list, companies must have a minimum of two women on their board of directors as well as at least 1,000 employees. Criteria reviewed during the application process include female representation, hiring, attrition and promotion rates and advancement programs. Special attention is also paid to women at the highest ranks and those with profit-and-loss responsibility. Founded in 1972, NAFE serves 20,000 members nationwide with networking, tools and solutions to strengthen and grow their careers and businesses.
