PHOENIX, July 1 To receive the "gold standard" of hair transplant procedures used to require a trip to Beverly Hills, Miami, Manhattan or other locales. Not anymore! Traditional hair transplantation requires the surgical removal of strips of skin from the donor area, generally from the back or sides of the head. With FUE, the surgeon removes and transplants single follicular units (one to three hairs) at a time, from the donor area, and re-implants toward the front of the head, eliminating an incision. The result allows for faster healing and less recovery time. Scarring and sutures are non-existent. In addition, there is no post operative discomfort.
