Nielsen Announces Final Entry Deadline Extension of September 10th for the First-Ever CLIO Healthcare Awards

NEW YORK, Aug. 31 The Nielsen Company, a leading global information and media company and the CLIO Awards, one of the world's most recognized international advertising and design competitions, announced today that access to the online entry system, currently open at www.CLIOHealthcare.com for first-ever CLIO Healthcare Awards entries, has been extended one final time. For all work appearing between January 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009, the entry must now be received by the CLIO Healthcare Awards no later than September 10, 2009. In an effort to take an innovative and eco-friendly approach to the entry process, the CLIO Healthcare Awards will only accept digital submissions for the work entered.

"We wanted to give professionals a little more time to finalize their submissions," said Karl Vontz, Director of Events, Adweek Media Events and CLIO Awards, The Nielsen Company. "With over 600 submissions thus far, we are excited to see that the industry is embracing the CLIO Healthcare Awards and are very encouraged by the strong work that has already been submitted."

The CLIO Healthcare Awards will honor creative excellence and innovation in advertising and communications in the healthcare industry. The entry system recognizes the differences in advertising between direct-to-professional and direct-to-consumer and covers the key areas of the healthcare industry, including pharmaceuticals, device and diagnostics, disease awareness, over-the-counter, and health services with an opportunity to submit for print, poster, billboard, direct mail, innovative, interactive, TV/cinema/digital, radio, strategic communications/public relations and integrated campaigns.
