Newly Published EPA RCRA Method 6800 Supports AIT Technology

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 20 Applied Isotope Technologies ("AIT")announced today, that the EPA Method 6800 has been published in January 2008edition of the Federal Register as a part of the methods section of a broadset of US environmental statutes known as RCRA (Resource Conservation andRecovery Act). This updated version of the method includes a long list ofsamples and data, including soil, water, tissue, yeast, hair, industrialmaterial, etc. AIT sells products that support Method 6800.

The EPA RCRA Method 6800 provides a powerful method that incorporates anadvanced version of the venerable isotope dilution technique, accepted as oneof the most reliable analytical tools in the analytical chemistry field. Theunique approach detailed in the Method 6800 provides the ability, for thefirst time, to obtain results that can withstand legal challenge in thecourts. This is a critical and much valued attribute for many regulatoryagencies, such as the Environmental Protection Agency, Centers for DiseaseControl and Federal Drug Administration, and communities affected byindustrial pollution.

In addition to legal defensibility, the Method 6800 is also uniquelyhelpful in identifying sources of errors in other methods.
