THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., July 20 With nearly 25% (1,215) of US occupational fatalities attributable to highway accidents (BLS CFOI 2008), and one in five licensed drivers (38 million) now lacking the necessary knowledge to pass a written driving test (GMAC 2010), US roadways are a dangerous place. Couple these statistics with the increase in distracted driving (phone, text, e-mail), and it is no wonder that US employers are eagerly searching for solutions to improve road safety for their drivers.

To answer this need, California based Omega Health Systems (OHS), in alliance with UK road risk and ergonomic risk management consultancy Cardinus Risk Management (CRM), has today announced an exciting new partnership with Advanced Drivers of America (ADA), North America's leading provider of both defensive and advanced driver training.

OHS/CRM will provide online risk assessment and e-learning systems via their award winning Safe Driving Plus system.

Buffalo based ADA, headed by leading road risk expert Eddie Wren, will provide OHS/CRM clients with behind-the-wheel driver safety training for personnel indicated by the OHS/CRM online risk assessment, as well as seminars and classroom training.

Commenting on the partnership, Rick Spencer, a member of the OHS Leadership Team stated, "We are delighted to have joined forces with ADA and to gain Eddie's expertise. He is a crusading force in international road safety and we believe this unmatched combination of online systems with on-road training provides clients with the most cost effective solution to managing road risk."

ADA President and Chief Instructor Eddie Wren added: "As the figures show, road crashes are by far the biggest cause of work-related deaths. To protect one's employees from harm, to help protect the local community and also to prevent serious losses to corporate profits it is extremely important to create and actively enforce a sound driver safety policy, to enhance reliable driver attitude and safety knowledge, and to introduce and encourage the use of driving skills that can be shown to meet global best standards. The other important benefit is significant cost savings within the fleet through the use of relevant eco driving."
