JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 9 Nemours, a children's healthcare system, has been ranked among the best in the specialty rankings as part of the 2010 edition of "America's Best Children's Hospitals," published online by U.S. News & World Report.
The magazine's annual ranking lists the top 30 children's hospitals in 10 pediatric specialties. This is the first time Nemours has achieved top rankings, including a top 10 - in Orthopedics.
"It has been less than 25 years since Nemours expanded its scope to offer the full range of pediatric subspecialties. Our growth in expertise since then has been impressive. Our goal is to provide the best, most compassionate care to every patient and family we serve. Achieving this level of recognition is very gratifying. We thank those families for entrusting their children to our care, and we salute our pediatric partners for standing with us to provide that care," commented David Bailey, CEO, Nemours.
Nemours is dedicated to achieving higher standards in children's health by offering an integrated spectrum of clinical treatment coupled with research, advocacy, and educational health and prevention services extending to all families in the communities it serves. Nemours owns and operates the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware and will establish a new full-service children's hospital, Nemours Children's Hospital, as part of an integrated pediatric health campus in Orlando. KidsHealth.org, the world's most visited pediatric health care website for parents, kids and teens, is a project of Nemours. Nemours BrightStart! provides a range of programs, products and services to help parents, schools and communities prepare all young children for future reading success, with a special focus on struggling, at-risk young learners. Nemours is taking a leading role to help people understand the causes and health implications of obesity and to promote healthier lifestyles among children and families through Nemours Health & Prevention Services.
