The acquisition marks the first time that any national sperm bank will be able to offer local services in both Los Angeles and New York - the country's two largest markets for reproductive medicine.

This acquisition will also enable California Cryobank to expand the diversity of its donors in one of the world's premier cities. Sims believes this is a key factor for clients. "Finding as wide a variety of highly-qualified donors as possible is extremely important. We want our clients to be able to find their ideal donor and to do that, they need a wide variety of donors from which to choose."
In order to maintain the current number of nearly 300 donors, the recruiting process never stops. This is due to a combination of the stringent donor eligibility requirements and limits on the number of allowed donations. Less than 1% of all applicants actually become fully qualified California Cryobank donors.
