FORT PIERCE, Fla., May 18 In the David versus Goliath battle for dominance over America's breakfast table, Natalie's Orchid Island Juice has scored another huge win. The little Fort Pierce, Florida company stunned the giants of the citrus juice industry by capturing the title of "Best Tasting Orange Juice" in Good Housekeeping magazine. The June issue of the magazine, which offers the latest trends and advice on healthy living, touts the fresh flavor of all-Florida fruit in a market filled with imports.
According to the taste-off at Good Housekeeping, Orchid Island Juice greatly exceeded all taste expectations in a test of 12 of the nation's leading juices. "Natalie's Orchid Island Juice Company Gourmet Pasteurized Orange Juice trounced the competition with its 'fresh-squeezed' taste and 'just the right amount of pulp." The Good Housekeeping tasters went on to say, "It's no wonder one participant wrote that it 'tastes like a real orange.'"
Receiving the Best Tasting Orange Juice title in Good Housekeeping magazine adds to an impressive list of national taste-test wins for the company. Natalie's Orchid Island Juice Company's Gourmet Pasteurized Orange Juice was selected as the Best Tasting in America by Cook's Illustrated magazine in early 2008. That award was mirrored by winning Best Tasting in a "live on-air" taste test on NBC's TODAY Show. The juice was also selected as the Best Tasting by Mr. Breakfast, an international celebrity expert on breakfast products. And, most recently was voted Best Tasting by Real Simple magazine.
"Being selected as Best Tasting in America validates our belief that the best way to make citrus juice is with 100 percent fresh, Florida fruit," said Lisa Rymer, a company spokesperson. "We believe the secret to our juice is high quality production standards, dedicated employees, and our continued commitment to only squeeze citrus grown by Florida farmers," she added.
