NHCAA's latest handbook provides health care fraud professionals and other stakeholders critical information and tools to maximize the effectiveness of their efforts to detect, investigate and, when appropriate, prosecute fraudulent activities.

NHCAA conservatively estimates that between 3 percent and 5 percent of the nation's total spending on health care is lost to fraud -- spending that is reaching $2 trillion and may grow by as much as 20 percent in the next 10 years. That means that over $100 million each day is diverted from real patient care to fraudulent activities.
