VapeXhale and its founder Seibo Shen are strong supporters of the use of cannabis for athletic recovery. The company recently hosted its first "Train Like a Champion" event in partnership with San Francisco-based CannAthlete as part of the first-ever series of cannabis training events. Created to help change the way people think about cannabis and fitness, sessions were led by former UFC contender and Strikeforce Champion, Jake Shields and 3X Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion, Denny Prokopos.

"Physical exercise and cannabis have always had an important synergy for me and VapeXhale has been pushing for safe and responsible cannabis use since its inception," said Seibo Shen, founder and CEO of VapeXhale. "Athletes like Eugene and I are excited to share the recovery benefits cannabis can have and help people better understand the connections between cannabis and health," he added.

Monroe also believes in the healing benefits of medical cannabis and continues to push for the NFL to remove cannabis from its banned substances list. As a former NFL player who suffered many serious physical injuries and concussions, and who still struggles with chronic pain, Monroe sees cannabis as a healthier, safer pain management alternative to the opioids commonly prescribed to athletes in football and other professional sports.

"I am pleased to be joining efforts with Seibo and VapeXhale to continue advocating for medical cannabis as a viable option for pain management, especially for athletes who suffer from chronic pain and concussions," said Monroe.

Monroe and VapeXhale are currently developing technology additions and specific athletic recovery programs to VapeXhale's award-winning flagship product, the EVO vaporizer, which will be available to the public in Q2 of 2017.

About Eugene Monroe

Eugene Monroe was the first active NFL player to openly advocate for the use of cannabinoids to treat chronic pain and sports-related injuries. Drafted eighth overall by the Jaguars in the 2009 NFL Draft, Eugene started 13 of 15 games at left tackle for Jacksonville in his first year, missing two contests due to injury. Eugene's value and domination on the field were confirmed when the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens orchestrated a trade to acquire the star left tackle in October 2013. Eugene enjoyed great success during his time as a Raven, consistently grading as one of the best pass blockers in the NFL. On July 21, 2016, after seven years in the NFL, Eugene retired from the game of football at the age of 29. The sport he loves had taken its toll on his body, from chronic pain and head trauma to acute injuries, and Eugene made the decision to focus on his health and his family. Eugene is calling on the NFL to remove cannabis from the banned substances list and he continues to advocate for medical cannabis research through education, donations and speaking appearances.
