Skin cancer is a growing concern and MoleSafe is a much needed resource in Charlotte. "Just this past month, we had more than a dozen melanomas biopsied. Melanoma remains a pervasive threat that can only be prevented through early detection," commented Dr. Brown. "I am proud to be able to implement this important service, as we take an important step forward in combating this deadly disease."

President of MoleSafe USA, Dr. Richard Bezozo added, "MoleSafe provides the most advanced and thorough skin cancer detection programs in the world. The continued growth of MoleSafe speaks to the important role that our service provides in fighting melanoma and saving lives."

MoleSafe's four-pronged detection program is utilized by more than 40 melanoma screening centers around the world. To date, MoleSafe has archived more than one million lesions, and close to two and half million lesion images, into its central database. These images have been made available to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and other top institutions in the U.S. for melanoma research and study. Additionally, clinical studies have shown that the number of melanoma cases detected by the MoleSafe technology could be up to 15 times greater than those detected via conventional techniques.

About MoleSafe

MoleSafe (www.molesafe.com) is a state-of-the-art procedure involving the digital imaging, archiving and diagnosis of moles and other suspicious lesions. The procedure utilizes a combination of high resolution dermoscopy imaging technology that uses high intensity light to penetrate through the surface of the skin to show the structure of moles (and other lesions) and a dermatologist's expert evaluation of the images. In addition to the increased diagnostic accuracy associated with dermoscopy, MoleSafe is able to detect at an earlier stage any new, changing and/or suspicious lesions by monitoring and comparing the images over time. While MoleSafe has the ability to identify all skin cancers, its primary focus is on the early detection of melanoma.
